Most taco shops don't have a real bar program. You get a cooler full of beer, maybe a frozen margarita machine, and that's about it. Roadside Taco in Studio City took a completely different approach — they brought in one of LA's most respected bar professionals to build a cocktail program that rivals standalone cocktail bars, then paired it with street tacos.

Ben Goglia: The Bar Director

Ben Goglia isn't new to the LA cocktail scene. Before joining Roadside Taco as a partner and Bar Director, Ben helped create the bar program at Blue Collar, one of Los Angeles' premier cocktail bars. His reputation is built on a specific philosophy: fresh hand-pressed juices, homemade syrups using all-natural ingredients, and a refusal to cut corners with artificial mixers or pre-made concentrates.

When Ben envisioned the bar at Roadside Taco, he wanted to bring that same craft cocktail culture to a neighborhood taquería — proving that you don't need a velvet rope and $25 drinks to have a world-class cocktail experience.

The Margarita Trio

The centerpiece of the cocktail menu is the margarita, offered in three styles:

The Regular Margarita is the classic — fresh-pressed lime, quality tequila, and Ben's homemade simple syrup. No neon-green mix, no artificial sweeteners, just the way a margarita should taste. It's $10.

The Spicy Margarita adds heat to the same foundation. For those who like their drinks with a kick, this one brings warmth without overwhelming the citrus and tequila balance. Also $10.

The Skinny Margarita strips things down for a lighter option — same fresh ingredients, reduced sugar, all the flavor. $10 as well.

Beyond Margaritas

The bar doesn't stop at margaritas. Roadside Taco offers five shots of tequila for $25 — a popular choice for groups celebrating on the patio. Beer options include Corona Extra and Modelo at $6 each, and for non-drinkers, there are sodas and agua fresca options.

Happy Hour: The Best Deal on Ventura Blvd

Every single day, Roadside Taco runs a happy hour until 6PM: Buy One Margarita, Get One for $5. That means you and a friend can each have a fresh, handmade craft margarita for about $7.50 each. On Tuesdays, the deal extends all the way until close — pair it with $2 Taco Tuesday and you've got one of the best nights out in Studio City.

The Perfect Pairing

The magic of Roadside Taco is in the combination. A Spicy Margarita with al pastor tacos — the pineapple in the taco playing off the heat in the drink. A Skinny Margarita with baja fried fish tacos — crisp and clean next to crunchy and rich. A Regular Margarita with carne asada — classic on classic.

A Bar Worth Visiting on Its Own

Here's the thing most people don't expect: you could come to Roadside Taco just for the drinks and leave completely satisfied. The bar program is that good. But once you smell those handmade tortillas coming off the grill, you're going to order tacos too. And that's exactly the point.
